Purchased a pair of Hoffmans for wildland firefighting. The boots are the most rugged and best built boots of any that I have ever owned. The leather is as thick as any boot on the market (including Whites), the boot is triple stitched around most of the boot, with the heel portion having four seams. They have reliable Vibram soles, they look nice, and just overall seem to be of superb quality. They do require quite a while to break in, as these boots are tough-but if you need a rugged, extra stout boot-these are a great choice.

I purchased my pair of Hoffman boots in June of 2006. I wanted a good sturdy pair of boots for use in wildland firefighting. I had looked at many different brands, and once I saw the Hoffman, I thought it was as rugged and sturdy as any boot I had looked at. The leather is as thick as any boot on the market (including White's). Most of the boot has triple stitching, with the area around the heel having quadruple stitching. It seems to be a boot of superior quality. It does take quite a while to get the boots broken in-I'm actually still working on that, but I have worn them on a 2 week fire detail, and was very happy with them. If you want an excellent quality boot, that is as rugged and sturdy as you can find, Hoffmans are a great choice.

After buying and loving a pair of Hoffman Pacs last winter, I purchased these 10" V192 boots in the spring. They took a bit to break in, but is more a testament of how rugged and durable they are. One they were broken in, they wear like gloves while remaining very sturdy and supportive. I tested them mule deer hunting this fall with a 1000' off-trail ascent, packing 65 lbs of meat up a slope that would be rated "Black Diamond" at a ski resort. The boots performed amazingly well. Plenty of support and traction on steep side hills, and everything else. I recommend buying a jar of Hoffman's Premium Boot Oil (Obenauf's)and applying two heavy coats right off the bat. It helps the leather to break-in and conform to your feet without weakening it. I also use seam sealant and boot grease to help the boots resist water. Unless I step in a creek, or walk in really wet grass for hours, my feet stay dry and warm. Love the boots, great price.

I purchased a pair of Hoffman 10" lineman boots last July. I have 33 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone this is the best lineman boot I have ever worn period. Purchased a pair of Wesco lineman boots from Hoffman and had them rebuild and put their dual steel shank in them. They did an excellent job. I recommend them highly.
